Creator Voices: Amanda Miller Pollard
Welcome to “Creator Voices,” a series where we interview Creators to learn more about how they’ve grown, their approach to content, and the fun, helpful tips they’ve picked up along the way.
In this interview, we spoke to Amanda Miller Pollard, a Denver area-based travel, lifestyle, fashion blogger, Collective Voice Creator and mother of two, bringing a fresh perspective to the art of balancing it all.
What’s your single best piece of advice for Creators who are just getting started?
Try to do something no one else is doing. There’s room for everyone, but find a way to stand out. And be yourself!
What’s one challenging aspect of being a Creator that you wish more people talked about?
The work-life balance.
There is always more to be done, more DMs sitting unread, etc. Learning to shut it all off to be present with my husband and family is the hardest thing ever. I have been married for six years and my oldest child is four, and I am still struggling with the juggle.
Do you ever get into a creative rut? If so, how do you get yourself out of it?
Absolutely.
I honestly try to plan a trip while experiencing burnout. It always gives me inspiration and then I anxiously await getting home to plan out content. I think absence makes the heart grow fonder as well.
If you can’t travel, take a break from your screen for a few days and hang out with friends. Try to experience something new.
What is your biggest source of inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is probably my kids. I just want to raise them to be kind, humble, and hardworking. Everything I do each day is geared towards that.
What’s your favorite topic to post about and why?
I really love posting about anything kids. My life revolves around them, so kid items just come easy, and I feel like I am an expert at all things kids!
What are the products your followers see you talk about the most?
Probably leggings. I just live in them lately, so my Amazon leggings and favorite Lululemon leggings are frequently on rotation.
What’s something other Creators should know before securing their first brand partnership?
It’s better to try and use a brand’s products, and then post about them organically before you work with them so you can remain authentic to yourself and your followers.
What’s your favorite campaign to date and why?
I always love my Backcountry campaigns. My husband and I think long and hard about cool, new places or activities we can do while shooting so each experience is new to us and we are creating fun, engaging content while we are at it.
What does your dream collaboration look like? What kind of content would you create?
Dream collabs would be anything involving travel. Can you imagine being paid to travel? What a dream!
